June is a Mom-writer’s favorite month of the year.
At least for me it is.
My daughter is finally out of school for the summer, which means no more waking up at 7am. No more living on less than 5 hours of sleep when I stayed up and worked the night before ๐ And for me, June is going to be a big writing month. Between my daughter particpating in tennis and volleyball this year, I’ll be doing a lot of writing wherever I can. In my car, outside when the humidity doesn’t threaten to make me sweat my butt off, but otherwise, in the house with the A/C blasting.
This is me writing in my car when my husband had an hour and a half dentist appointment. Gotta do what we gotta do to get those words in ๐
The prequel in the Sugarland Creek series, “Come With Me” is set to soft-launch to my subscribers on June 13th!

“See that guy over there…” She nods her head toward a man chatting in the corner holding a glass of dark liquid. “His name is Hunter. Thirty-two. He’s a publicist for one of the big shot bull riders. Used to be one, too.”
I take a drink as I size up the guy. He’s not that impressive.
Noah twirls a piece of her golden blond hair. “Suit and tie ain’t really my type but he seems cocky enough to at least give decent oral.”
Choking on my beer, I cough until it clears down my throat. Jesus.
“You alright? You sure choke a lot.” She hands me a fresh napkin, and I take it to wipe my mouth.
“You keep takin’ me by surprise.”
Her hands go to her hips as she narrows her eyes at me. “You’re not used to women hittin’ on you? That seems unlikely.”
I don’t know why that makes my body heat but it does. Noah’s like no one I’ve ever met before.
Blunt, beautiful, and unapologetically herself.

“Are you…blushin’?” she taunts, tilting her head and getting a better look at my face.
“No. I don’t blush,” I say firmly.
Noah’s lips curl up in an amused smirk. “You cowboy…are blushin’.”

Her gaze holds mine as she swallows hard and licks her bottom lip. Thank God there are two other bartenders who are taking care of the other customers because I like having her full attention.
“Have I rendered you speechless?” I taunt, keeping my eyes on her as I take another sip of my beer.
She grabs a glass, fills it with water, and then chugs it down in one go. Once she’s done, she wipes her chin and grins.
“That’s one way to put me in a chokehold. Not quite the preferred method of chokin’ I’m used to, but I’ll take it.”
“Jesus Christ,” I murmur, shaking my head. My dick heard that one.
